Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or those allergic to cephalosporins, penicillin antibiotics, and certain local anesthetics should avoid use. It may also be dangerous in premature infants or neonates with bilirubin binding issues and should not be used. Patients with severe renal dysfunction may have increased drug concentrations, necessitating dosage and interval adjustments. Various side effects, including diarrhea, rash, abnormal liver function, and decrease in blood cell counts, can occur, and immediate consultation with a doctor is required upon onset of abnormal symptoms. There is a risk of fatal allergic reactions or shock, thus thorough history taking and observation before administration is needed, along with readiness for emergency treatment. Use it only for the required duration to prevent antibiotic resistance, and regular liver and kidney function tests are important.
