This medication is used to treat various infections caused by bacteria. It is effective against respiratory infections excluding acute bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia, and is also used for ear, nose, and throat infections. Additionally, it is used for bacterial prostatitis, various urinary tract infections, gonococcal cervicitis, and urethritis. It is useful for gastrointestinal infections, infections of the bile duct, skin and soft tissue wounds, osteoarticular infections, and gynecological infections. It is also used to treat conditions such as peritonitis, inflammatory conditions around the eyes, chalazion, and sialadenitis. Due to the characteristics of fluoroquinolones, it should only be used for some mild infections when there are no other treatment options. This drug is used for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication can cause serious side effects such as tendonitis or tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system effects. If these symptoms occur, you must discontinue use immediately. Especially in patients with myasthenia gravis, symptoms may worsen, so it is important not to administer it. It should not be used in specific patient populations like pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 18 years old, and patients with epilepsy. This drug can increase the risk of seizures; therefore, it should be used cautiously in patients with a history of seizures or central nervous system diseases. Elderly patients or those with decreased kidney function should be careful of increased drug concentration, monitor dosage, and administration intervals. This drug can interact with other medications, particularly with theophylline, warfarin, sulfonylurea-type diabetes medications, and tizanidine, so caution is needed when taken together. Photosensitivity reactions may occur, so it is advisable to avoid strong sunlight or artificial ultraviolet light exposure, and usage should be discontinued if skin rashes or itching occur. During administration, if visual disturbances, sensory abnormalities, psychiatric symptoms, or severe muscle pain occur, consult a specialist immediately. This drug has various side effects reported, including gastrointestinal disturbances, liver function abnormalities, and blood disorders, necessitating regular monitoring. Overdose poses a risk of kidney damage and requires appropriate emergency treatment and kidney function tests. Store this medication out of reach of children and protect it from direct sunlight and ultraviolet light.
