Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Patients who are allergic to any ingredient of this medication or have hypersensitivity reactions to similar antibiotics should not take it. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with severely impaired kidney and liver function, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or patients with central nervous system infections. Use caution when administering this medication to patients with impaired liver or kidney function, those with heart diseases, elderly patients, and patients taking other antibiotics or certain medications. During treatment, various side effects may occur, such as allergic reactions, digestive issues, skin rashes, liver dysfunction, kidney problems, and central nervous system symptoms. If any unusual symptoms arise, it is essential to consult a physician immediately. To prevent the development of resistant bacteria, it should be taken only for the necessary duration, and in case of worsening diarrhea or abdominal pain during treatment, it should be discontinued immediately and consult a healthcare provider. This medication has numerous drug interactions, so patients should inform their healthcare provider of any other medications they are taking, especially when used with heart-related medications, anticoagulants, diabetes medications, and certain antiviral drugs, as changes in blood concentration and side effects need to be monitored. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication, and if necessary, breastfeeding must be discontinued. For children, research on the safety of this medication is limited, so the decision on its use should be made cautiously based on age. In elderly patients, due to decreased physical function, there may be increased drug concentration, so they should take it with caution, and dose adjustment is necessary in patients with severely impaired kidney function. This medication may cause symptoms that affect driving or operating machinery (e.g., dizziness, confusion), so caution is advised. In cases of overdose, gastrointestinal disturbances and mental changes can occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought.
