This medication is used to treat various bacterial infections. It is effective against respiratory infections such as acute sinusitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, and community-acquired pneumonia. It is also used to treat skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, and uncomplicated pelvic infections. However, since it is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, moxifloxacin should only be administered when there are no alternative treatment options for acute bacterial sinusitis and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. This medication is effective against a wide range of bacterial species including Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, atypical bacteria, and anaerobes, helping to improve various bacterial infections.
