Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin or cephalosporin medications. Patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at increased risk of rash, and it is best for them to avoid this medication. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this drug or penicillin should also avoid administration. Patients with impaired liver function or moderate to severe renal impairment should use this drug cautiously, as drug concentrations may increase. Patients with allergies, difficulty in oral intake, elderly patients, and those with accompanying gastrointestinal diseases should also be treated cautiously. During treatment, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur; if any abnormal symptoms appear, consult a doctor immediately. Symptoms of liver dysfunction can rarely occur, so liver function tests are necessary during long-term use. Allergic reactions such as skin rash, urticaria, and in severe cases, anaphylactic shock may occur, so careful monitoring after administration is required. If severe allergic symptoms appear, the drug should be discontinued immediately and emergency treatment should be sought. Rare cases of abnormal blood test results such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia have been reported, so blood tests may be necessary during long-term use. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is important to inform a physician, especially when taking anticoagulants, certain antibiotics, or anti-inflammatory drugs. Pregnant or breastfeeding women must consult their physician before using this drug, especially during the first three months of pregnancy, as it is advisable to avoid administration. During breastfeeding, infants may exhibit diarrhea or skin rash, so administration should be discontinued if any abnormal symptoms occur. Use in children, especially those under 12 years or weighing less than 40 kg, is not recommended due to limited experience. Elderly patients may easily experience adverse reactions due to decreased bodily function and may have an increased risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted, and they should be carefully monitored. In the case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms may occur along with renal and central nervous system abnormalities, so if overdose is suspected, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should be stored in a special container to prevent moisture and should be kept in a cool, dry place at temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius. This helps maintain the effectiveness of the drug and prevent deterioration.
