Treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers (including eradication therapy), reflux disease, and excessive gastric acid secretion
This medication is used for the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers and benign gastric ulcers. It also helps eradicate Helicobacter pylori to prevent the recurrence of duodenal ulcers and is useful for maintenance therapy after ulcer treatment. It is effective for the treatment of gastric ulcers induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and for reducing the risk of occurrence. Additionally, it is used for the short-term treatment and maintenance therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis. It also assists in managing pathological hypersecretion conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Overall, it is effectively utilized for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal disorders.

Pathological hypersecretory conditions, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome The dose of lansoprazole for pathological hypersecretory conditions varies among individual patients. Treatment in adults is usually started at 60 mg once daily. The dose should be adjusted according to the patient's needs and may be continued for as long as it is clinically effective. Doses of 90 mg per dose have been administered up to twice daily. If the daily dose exceeds 120 mg, it should be divided. Because clearance of this drug is reduced in older adults, dose adjustment is necessary. Do not exceed a daily dose of 30 mg. In patients with hepatic impairment, administer cautiously, including dose adjustment, because metabolism and excretion of this drug may be delayed.
