Precautions

This medication should not be mixed or administered simultaneously with calcium-containing solutions. In particular, it should never be used with calcium solutions in neonates under 28 days old as it may pose risks. This drug can react with calcium and form precipitates, which can cause life-threatening problems in the lungs or kidneys of neonates and premature infants. Therefore, when administering this drug, a different injection site from the calcium-containing solution should be used, and the time of administration should be separated. Patients with a history of allergy to this drug or hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins should not use this medication. Additionally, this drug contains lidocaine and should not be administered intravenously; premature infants and neonates with bilirubin binding issues should not use this medication. Patients with severe kidney disease or a history of drug allergies should use this medication cautiously and may require dosage adjustments or changes in the dosing interval. This medication can cause side effects such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, elevated liver enzymes, diarrhea, and rashes, so regular monitoring is necessary during administration. If severe allergic reactions or shock symptoms appear, administration should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be administered. Like other antibiotics, this medication may alter the normal intestinal flora and cause severe diarrhea or colitis, so caution is advised if symptoms occur. Pregnant or nursing women should consult their physician as the use of this medication may affect the fetus or infant. Older adults may have reduced bodily functions and a higher risk of side effects, so dosage and intervals should be carefully monitored. Regular testing for blood, liver, and kidney function, as well as bleeding risks, is essential during the administration of this drug. Finally, this medication should be used as soon as possible after preparation, and when stored, it should be used within 6 hours at room temperature and within 24 hours under refrigeration.
