Precautions

This medication is a penicillin-class antibiotic and should not be used by individuals with hypersensitivity to specific components or allergies to beta-lactam agents. There is a higher risk of side effects, such as rash, in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphoblastic leukemia, so caution is required. Patients with liver function issues or a history of liver impairment should use this medication with caution, and patients with moderate to severe kidney impairment should adjust the dosing interval. Caution is also needed for allergic individuals, elderly patients, and those with accompanying gastrointestinal diseases, as vomiting or diarrhea during medication could affect drug absorption. This medication may cause gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as diarrhea, dyspepsia, vomiting, and abdominal pain, so if symptoms become severe, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. Liver function abnormalities or jaundice symptoms may rarely occur, and this is particularly reported more frequently in the elderly and males. Skin rashes, itching, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, so if any skin abnormalities are observed, use of the medication should be stopped immediately. Blood-related side effects such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia may rarely occur, requiring periodic blood tests. Central nervous system adverse reactions may rarely include headaches, dizziness, and seizures, so if neurological symptoms are present, immediate medical attention should be sought. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding have restrictions on the use of this medication, especially during the first trimester of pregnancy, where it is advisable to avoid its use. In children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg, there is limited experience in using this medication, so it is not recommended. Elderly patients should use this medication cautiously due to a higher risk of adverse reactions associated with reduced bodily functions, and dosing and intervals should be adjusted accordingly. This medication may interact with other drugs, so individuals currently taking other medications should inform their doctor or pharmacist. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, renal failure, and seizures may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought for proper treatment.
