Dosage

For adolescents aged 12 years and older or adults, spray once into each nostril (nasal cavity) up to 3 times a day. The interval between applications should be more than 8 hours.

Precautions

Patients with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid issues, or glaucoma should consult a healthcare professional before use. Patients taking antidepressants, individuals with insomnia, dizziness, tremors, cardiac arrhythmia, or elevated blood pressure, who have strong sympathetic nervous system responses, should use this medication with caution. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should use this medication under medical supervision. If a cough persists or if you have respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema, it is important to consult a healthcare professional before use. If allergic symptoms such as rash, swelling, or itching occur while using this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. If symptoms do not improve after using for more than 3 days, stop use and consult a healthcare professional. Rarely, serious symptoms such as severe headache, nausea, vomiting, or visual disturbances may occur, and if these happen, stop use immediately and consult medical personnel. This medication must be used according to the prescribed dosage and administration. Excessive use may lead to increased nasal congestion; therefore, caution is advised. This medication is intended for rhinitis treatment only and should not be applied to the eyes or ears. To prevent contamination, it is advisable not to share this medication with others. Do not use continuously for more than 7 days. It is safer to avoid alcohol while taking this medication. Parental supervision is required when children are using this medication.

Side effects

Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, fever, high fever, severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, asthma attacks, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly decreased urine output, increased blood pressure, reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (PRES)/reversible.

Interactions

This medication should not be used if the patient is currently taking MAO inhibitors (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anti-Parkinson medications) or has stopped using them within the last 2 weeks. Additionally, patients taking tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.
