Precautions

Care must be taken when cutting the container to use this medication, as glass fragments may be mixed in when using an ampoule injection. Special caution is needed when administering to children or the elderly. Patients who have hypersensitivity to this medication or have had allergies to this medication or its ingredients, as well as patients currently taking dofetilide, should not use this medication. The risk of arrhythmia may increase when used with dofetilide. Patients with poor kidney or liver functions, those with a history of allergic reactions to medication, elderly patients, children under 19 years of age, and patients undergoing hemodialysis should use this medication with caution, adjusting the dosage or extending the administration intervals as necessary. Additionally, symptoms of stomach cancer may be concealed, so it is important to check for malignancy before use, and patients with Helicobacter pylori infection may require eradication therapy. During the course of treatment, various adverse reactions may occur, such as decreased blood cell counts, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, hypersensitivity reactions, hormone-related side effects, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological symptoms, cardiac rhythm abnormalities, and serious skin reactions. If any abnormal symptoms appear, the healthcare provider should be notified immediately. During treatment, it is essential to carefully observe the course of the illness and use only the minimum effective dose; if there is no effect, the treatment should be changed to another method. Special caution is required when elderly or chronic disease patients take this medication alongside non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. This medication may interact with several other drugs, so when taken with warfarin, midazolam, diazepam, beta-blockers, antiepileptics, antiarrhythmics, antidepressants, antifungals, adjustments in dosage or withdrawal periods may be necessary. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication, and breastfeeding should be discontinued if nursing. Safety has not been sufficiently confirmed for use in children, so it should only be used if absolutely necessary; elderly patients may require dose adjustments due to decreased renal function, potentially leading to increased blood concentrations. In case of overdose, severe symptoms such as respiratory depression may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment. When used as an injection, rapid intravenous administration may cause arrhythmias or hypotension, so it must be administered slowly. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to other containers should be avoided as it may compromise quality.
