Precautions

This drug is a penicillin-type antibiotic, and it is important not to use it in certain patients. First, patients who have experienced a severe allergic reaction to this drug's components or to beta-lactam antibiotics should not take this drug. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with viral infections accompanied by infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as the risk of side effects such as rashes is higher. Patients with a history of liver function issues should also be cautious as liver damage may recur. Patients with impaired liver function or severe kidney disease may have higher concentrations of this drug, so the dosing interval may need to be adjusted. Patients who are hypersensitive or have gastrointestinal symptoms, such as vomiting or diarrhea, also need to be careful when taking this drug. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and nausea may occur during treatment, and in severe cases, complications such as pseudomembranous colitis may arise. Signs of liver dysfunction may also occur, so elderly patients over 60 years or males should be closely monitored. Rarely, skin rashes, itching, and severe allergic reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur; if any unusual symptoms appear, use should be stopped immediately. Blood-related adverse reactions such as leukopenia or anemia have been reported, and neurological issues like anxiety, confusion, and seizures may rarely occur. This drug is excreted through the kidneys, so patients with poor kidney function need regular checks. Additionally, a disruption in intestinal flora can lead to infections like candidiasis or stomatitis, so patients should consult a doctor if symptoms appear. This drug can interact with other medications, particularly anticoagulants, gout medications, and some antibiotics, so care is needed when used together. Women who are pregnant or nursing should consult a doctor before use, especially it is advisable not to take this drug in the first three months of pregnancy. When administering to children or the elderly, doses should be adjusted and the condition monitored closely. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, rashes, and seizures may occur, so appropriate treatment should be sought immediately at a medical facility. This drug should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius and should not be used for a long period without a doctor's guidance.
