Adult dose

This medication is used for various gastrointestinal disorders including gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, recurrent ulcer, anastomotic ulcer, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It also helps improve gastric mucosal lesions such as erosion, bleeding, redness, and edema that occur during acute exacerbation of acute and chronic gastritis. Therefore, it is used as an effective treatment to protect the gastric mucosa, alleviate inflammation, and improve symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As cimetidine, administer 400 mg orally twice a day (morning and at bedtime) or 800 mg once daily (at bedtime). In addition, 300 mg can be taken orally four times a day (after meals and at bedtime). It can be increased to a total of 1.6 g (400 mg four times daily (after meals and at bedtime)). Precautions

This medication contains the ingredient cimetidine and should not be used by patients with specific allergic reactions or those taking another medication called dofetilide. Patients with lactose intolerance or genetic lactose metabolism disorders should also avoid this medication. Patients with kidney or liver function problems, those with a history of drug allergies, the elderly, children, and those undergoing hemodialysis should use this medication cautiously. This medication may hide symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should only be used after confirming malignancy, and patients with Helicobacter pylori infection require eradication treatment. Patients allergic to Yellow No. 4 (tartrazine) should also be careful. The minimum effective dose should be used, and if ineffective, it is best to switch to another treatment method. The risk of pneumonia may increase in the elderly or those with chronic diseases, so caution is advised. It may interact with other drugs, so especially when combined with anticoagulants, antidepressants, antiarrhythmics, calcium channel blockers, antifungal agents, etc., follow the doctor's instructions. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication cautiously as its safety has not been established, and breastfeeding should be discontinued during its use. Overdose may lead to severe symptoms such as respiratory depression, and immediate medical attention should be sought, and intravenous administration should be given slowly to minimize side effects.
