This medication is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults aged 6 and older. ADHD is characterized by persistent symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness that cause significant impairment in social or academic functioning across various settings such as school and home. Diagnosis should be made according to DSM-IV or ICD-10 criteria, distinguishing symptoms from other mental disorders. This medication is not used alone but is an important part of a comprehensive treatment program that includes psychosocial and educational interventions. Not all patients require pharmacotherapy; it is prescribed for those with chronic or severe symptoms, based on a doctor's evaluation. Therefore, this medication is effectively used to improve ADHD symptoms.
