Safety and efficacy data for pediatric patients under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17 are insufficient, and usage is not recommended.

This medication is effective in treating peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. In addition, it is used as an adjunct treatment for partial seizures in patients with epilepsy, applicable to both cases with or without secondary general symptoms. Furthermore, it helps alleviate symptoms of fibromyalgia. Therefore, this drug is used to improve symptoms of various neurological disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered orally, divided into two doses daily regardless of meals. 1. Neuropathic pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg daily, may increase to 300 mg daily within 3 to 7 days, and if necessary, may be increased to a maximum of 600 mg at 7-day intervals. - Central neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg daily, may increase to 300 mg daily after one week.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy data for pediatric patients under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17 are insufficient, and usage is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so if mood changes or symptoms of depression occur during use, you should immediately inform your healthcare provider. Do not take if you are allergic to any ingredients in this medication or have genetic conditions such as lactose intolerance. Diabetic patients should be cautious as weight gain may require adjustments in blood sugar control medications. If allergic reactions such as angioedema occur, discontinue the medication immediately. Pregnant women should avoid this medication in early pregnancy due to the risk of fetal malformations, and women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception. Breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider about the possibility of this medication passing into breast milk. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery, so avoid these activities until symptoms are confirmed. Severe skin reactions may rarely occur, so discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider if any skin abnormalities arise. In cases of overdose, confusion, drowsiness, and depression may occur, so immediate medical attention is recommended in emergencies. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers.
