Relief of peripheral and central neuropathic pain, adjunctive treatment for partial seizures in epilepsy, improvement of fibromyalgia.
This medication is used for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It can also be used as an adjunctive treatment for partial seizures, with or without secondary generalized symptoms, in epilepsy patients. Additionally, it is effective for the treatment of fibromyalgia. It is used effectively for various neurological diseases and pain conditions.
This medication should be taken by oral administration in two divided doses, regardless of food intake. 1. Neuropathic Pain - Peripheral Neuropathic Pain: Starting dose of 150 mg daily; the dose may be increased to 300 mg daily after 3 to 7 days, and if necessary, can be increased to a maximum of 600 mg daily with 7-day intervals. - Central Neuropathic Pain: Starting dose of 150 mg daily; after one week, may increase to 300 mg daily.
The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17 have not been sufficiently established, and its use is not recommended.
This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so careful observation for symptoms of depression or mood changes is necessary during treatment. It should not be taken by individuals allergic to any of the ingredients, as well as patients with certain genetic lactose metabolism disorders. Diabetic patients may experience impacts on blood sugar management due to weight gain, so adjustments to insulin or oral antidiabetics may be necessary. If allergic reactions such as angioedema occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Elderly patients are at a higher risk of falls due to dizziness or drowsiness, so caution should be exercised at the beginning of treatment. Blurred vision or changes in eyesight may occur; if symptoms persist, a consultation with a doctor is recommended. Discontinuation of this medication should not be sudden, as withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, headache, and anxiety may occur; it should be tapered off according to a doctor’s instructions. Patients with a history of drug abuse should take this medication cautiously, considering the potential for misuse. Patients with impaired renal function may require dosage adjustments. This medication should be administered with caution to patients with severe heart disease; the risk of central nervous system depression increases when used with opioids. It may cause dizziness and drowsiness, requiring caution when driving or operating machinery. In early pregnancy, there is a risk of fetal deformity, so women of childbearing age should use effective contraception; the decision to use this medication during pregnancy should be made cautiously. Women who are breastfeeding should consult with their doctor about the possibility that this medication may be transferred into breast milk and whether to discontinue nursing or the medication. In case of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness, confusion, and depression may arise, and treatments such as hemodialysis may be necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and it is advisable not to transfer it to another container. If severe rashes or allergic reactions occur during use, discontinue the medication immediately and consult medical staff.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe allergic reactions, severe rash accompanied by high fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in mouth/eyes mucosa, severe skin abnormal reactions, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, jaundice (skin or eyes turning yellow), severe lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice), sudden onset.

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it must be stored in a tightly sealed container. The storage temperature should maintain room temperature between 15 to 30 degrees Celsius to preserve the drug's effectiveness.
