Neuropathic pain 1) Peripheral neuropathic pain - Starting dose: 150 mg per day - Possible increase to 300 mg per day within 3 to 7 days - If necessary, increase to a maximum of 600 mg per day in increments of 300 mg at intervals of 7 days. 2) Central neuropathic pain - Starting dose: 150 mg per day - After 1 week
Child dose
Administration in children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17 years is not recommended due to lack of safety and efficacy data.

This medication is used in adults to alleviate peripheral and central neuropathic pain, and as an adjunct treatment for partial seizures in epilepsy patients. It also helps in treating pain associated with fibromyalgia. It is used to improve symptoms of various neurological disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken orally in divided doses and irrespective of meals. The total daily dosage is divided into 2 doses per day. 1. Neuropathic pain 1) Peripheral neuropathic pain - Starting dose: 150 mg per day - Possible increase to 300 mg per day within 3 to 7 days - If necessary, increase to a maximum of 600 mg per day in increments of 300 mg at intervals of 7 days. 2) Central neuropathic pain - Starting dose: 150 mg per day - After 1 week

Child dose

Precautions

This drug is an anticonvulsant and may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or actions; therefore, patients and caregivers should carefully monitor for signs of depression or unusual behavior. This medication should not be administered to patients with certain genetic issues, and should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to its components. For diabetic patients, weight gain may affect blood sugar control, necessitating adjustments to diabetes medication. If symptoms of angioedema occur, discontinue use immediately. Elderly patients may be at increased risk of accidents due to dizziness or drowsiness. Visual changes such as blurred vision may occur but may improve upon discontinuation of the medication. There is a risk of drug abuse, so patients with a history of substance abuse should exercise particular caution. In early pregnancy, there is a risk of fetal malformation, so women of childbearing age should use effective contraception, and pregnant women should avoid use unless in special circumstances. Breastfeeding women should consider the possibility of the drug passing into breast milk and may need to discontinue breastfeeding or the medication. This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness, so sufficient evaluation of reactions should be performed before engaging in driving or operating hazardous machinery. In case of overdose, symptoms like confusion, drowsiness, or depression may occur, and blood dialysis may be required if necessary. This drug should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers. If any adverse reactions such as skin rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing occur during use, immediately inform medical personnel and discontinue use.
