This medication is used for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. Additionally, it is utilized as an adjunct for partial seizures with or without secondary generalization in patients with epilepsy. Furthermore, it is effective for the treatment of fibromyalgia. This drug helps improve the symptoms of various neurological disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication, which is Pregabalin, should be administered orally in two divided doses daily regardless of food intake. 1. Neuropathic Pain 1) Peripheral Neuropathic Pain Initial dosage of 150 mg per day, can increase to 300 mg per day after 3-7 days, and if necessary, can increase to a maximum of 600 mg per day at intervals of 7 days. 2) Central Neuropathic Pain Initial dosage of 150 mg per day

Child dose

Precautions

Abruptly discontinuing this medication may lead to withdrawal symptoms, such as insomnia, headache, and anxiety, hence it should be tapered gradually according to a physician's instructions. Due to the risk of drug abuse, patients with a history of mental illness or substance abuse should consult healthcare providers before taking this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function may need dosage adjustments, and patients with severe heart failure should take this medication with caution. When taken with opioid analgesics, the central nervous system depressive effects may be enhanced, requiring caution. In early pregnancy, there is a risk of congenital malformations in the fetus, so women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant must consult a physician before taking this medication.
