Precautions

Care must be taken when using this medication as glass fragments may mix while using the ampoule, particularly when cutting the container. Extra caution is needed when used in children and the elderly. It should not be administered to patients with an allergy to this drug or its ingredients. Patients currently taking other serotonergic drugs should use this medication cautiously and follow their doctor’s instructions. This drug can rarely cause severe allergic reactions or seizure-like symptoms; if any unusual symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a medical professional. Side effects such as headache, diarrhea, and liver function abnormalities may occur, so notify a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen. It is recommended for use only in patients undergoing chemotherapy with strong nausea and vomiting. Concurrent use with other serotonergic drugs may lead to serotonin syndrome, so medical supervision is required. Caution is advised when administered with other drugs that affect the enzymes breaking down the medication in the liver, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits before using this medication, and breastfeeding should be discontinued if they are nursing. The safety for use in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so it is best to avoid use. The elderly may have weakened body functions, so they should be used cautiously while closely monitoring their condition. This medication should not be mixed with certain injectable solutions and should be used safely by wiping the ampoule with an alcohol swab when cutting.
