This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, it should not be administered to patients with a genetic disorder called phenylketonuria. Care must be taken not to exceed the daily allowable amount of aspartame, and adults should adhere to the maximum daily dose. Patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to this medication, or those with lactose intolerance, lactose enzyme deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or other genetic issues should not use it. Serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis can occur during use, so if symptoms like low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, or rash appear, administration should be stopped immediately, and medical attention should be sought. Blood-related adverse effects may include a decrease in white blood cells or platelets, and if fever, sore throat, or a tendency to bleed occurs, administration should be stopped. Liver dysfunction may occur, so if symptoms such as jaundice or elevated liver enzymes are present, medical staff must be informed. Respiratory issues may lead to interstitial pneumonia or eosinophilic pneumonia, so immediate medical attention is required if symptoms like fever, cough, or difficulty breathing arise. Muscle pain, weakness, or muscle damage symptoms may also occur, and there is a risk of kidney damage due to rhabdomyolysis, so be vigilant for muscle-related symptoms. Hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, hives, or itching may manifest, and if these symptoms occur, administration should be stopped. Central nervous system symptoms such as insomnia, tremors, anxiety, and headaches may present, so changes in condition should be closely monitored. Gastrointestinal issues such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may occur, and any unusual symptoms should be reported. Cardiac irregularities, palpitations, and facial flushing may arise, necessitating caution. Urinary-related symptoms such as urinary dysfunction, hematuria, or proteinuria should also be monitored for abnormalities. Other symptoms may include edema, hair loss, fatigue, and menstrual irregularities. This medication is not an immediate reliever for asthma attacks, so patients must be thoroughly informed about this point. If asthma attacks worsen during administration, bronchodilators or steroids may be necessary. Patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment should be monitored carefully when reducing their steroid dosage with this medication. Suddenly discontinuing this medication may worsen the original condition, so caution is required. Rarely, vasculitis can occur with the use of leukotriene antagonists, and such symptoms may manifest during steroid reduction, so close observation is warranted. Mental symptoms such as depression, suicidal thoughts, and aggressive behavior have been reported, so the patient's mental state should be closely observed. If there is no therapeutic effect, caution is advised against long-term use, especially in children who may lack awareness of symptoms, necessitating careful observation by caregivers. This medication is metabolized in the liver, so when used with other medications that affect liver metabolism, caution is required due to potential changes in blood concentration. Safety during pregnancy has not been established; use should only occur after thoroughly considering necessity and risks. There is insufficient experience with infants under 1 year of age, low birth weight babies, and neonates, so safety has not been confirmed for them. Older adults should be cautious in usage as their physiological functions may be impaired, requiring dosage reductions. Finally, store this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to other containers, as this is safer and better for maintaining quality.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication must be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is important to maintain the storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius room temperature. This helps to preserve the medication's effectiveness and safety.
