Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with certain allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to specific antibiotics. Patients who are pregnant or have a genetic lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Patients with a history of drug allergies, liver function issues, elderly patients, breastfeeding women, and children should use this medication cautiously. There may rarely be serious allergic reactions, blood-related abnormalities, liver dysfunction, or severe skin rashes while taking this drug, so if abnormal symptoms occur, consult a physician immediately. Long-term use may lead to nutrient deficiencies such as vitamin B12 deficiency or hypomagnesemia, so regular testing is needed. This drug reduces gastric acid secretion and may increase the risk of bacterial overgrowth in the gastrointestinal tract; rapid diagnosis and treatment are needed if symptoms such as diarrhea or gastrointestinal infection occur. There is a possibility of drug interactions, so particularly if taking antibiotics, antivirals, anticoagulants, or immunosuppressants, consultation with a physician or pharmacist is required. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication or if necessary, discontinue breastfeeding during use. Safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established for children, so caution is necessary in their use. Elderly patients should generally start at a lower dose and be monitored closely. In cases of overdose, there is no specific antidote, but symptomatic treatment such as gastric lavage or activated charcoal may be required depending on the symptoms. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in its original container to maintain its quality.
