Precautions

This drug is a penicillin antibiotic and should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to beta-lactam drugs. Specifically, patients who have experienced severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or shock in the past should avoid using this medication. Additionally, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia may have an increased risk of rash when taking this medication. Patients with impaired liver or kidney function may be adversely affected by this drug, necessitating dosage adjustment and careful monitoring. Patients with allergies, the elderly, or those with gastrointestinal diseases should also be cautious when taking this drug, paying particular attention to symptoms of vitamin K deficiency. During treatment, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur, and if severe, the patient should stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare provider. Symptoms of liver dysfunction have also been reported, so it is advisable to undergo regular liver function tests during the treatment period. If signs of hypersensitivity appear, such as skin rash, hives, or difficulty breathing, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and medical advice should be followed. Prolonged use of this medication carries the risk of developing resistant bacteria and overgrowth of non-susceptible bacteria, so it is advisable to use it only for the minimum necessary duration. Pregnant women in early pregnancy or those who are breastfeeding should use this medication with caution and stop taking it if any adverse reactions appear in the infant. Special attention is needed for children and the elderly, particularly as the elderly may have an increased tendency to bleed that requires monitoring. This drug may interact with other medications, so patients are urged to inform their healthcare providers of any concurrent medications, especially when using anticoagulants or certain antibiotics. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms or neurological disturbances may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. Store in a dry place at or below 25 degrees Celsius and avoid randomly stopping or changing the dosage.
