Essential hypertension may not be sufficiently controlled by individual component therapies alone, and in such cases, combination therapy is required to control blood pressure. This medication is particularly used to assist in controlling blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension, stabilizing blood pressure and reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The recommended dose is 1 tablet once daily and can be taken regardless of meals. Consider adjusting the dose of Candesartan Cilexetil prior to administration. No dose adjustment is required for elderly patients. Dose adjustment is also recommended for patients with renal or liver impairment. This medication should not be administered to patients with severe renal or liver impairment.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Individuals who have allergies to the ingredients or sulfonamide derivatives contained in this medication, pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding women, patients with severe kidney or liver disorders, and those with a history of certain hereditary diseases or angioedema should not take this medication. Patients with reduced blood volume or low sodium levels, liver disease, cardiac valve disease, hyperkalemia, severe arteriosclerosis, elderly individuals, etc., should use this medication with special caution. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and if necessary during breastfeeding, they must discontinue breastfeeding.
