Improvement of essential hypertension
Essential hypertension may not be sufficiently controlled by individual component therapies alone, and in such cases, combination therapy is required to control blood pressure. This medication is particularly used to assist in controlling blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension, stabilizing blood pressure and reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications.
The recommended dose is 1 tablet once daily and can be taken regardless of meals. Consider adjusting the dose of Candesartan Cilexetil prior to administration. No dose adjustment is required for elderly patients. Dose adjustment is also recommended for patients with renal or liver impairment. This medication should not be administered to patients with severe renal or liver impairment.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Individuals who have allergies to the ingredients or sulfonamide derivatives contained in this medication, pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding women, patients with severe kidney or liver disorders, and those with a history of certain hereditary diseases or angioedema should not take this medication. Patients with reduced blood volume or low sodium levels, liver disease, cardiac valve disease, hyperkalemia, severe arteriosclerosis, elderly individuals, etc., should use this medication with special caution. This medication may cause various side effects such as headache, dizziness, fatigue, dyspepsia, skin rash, and can sometimes lead to changes in blood test values or, rarely, serious allergic reactions. There is an increased risk of skin cancer, so sun exposure should be minimized, and skin conditions should be checked regularly. If any suspicious lesions are found, a doctor should be consulted immediately. During treatment, blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels should be regularly monitored. When combined with other antihypertensive medications or diuretics or certain drugs, the risk of side effects may increase due to interactions, so it is essential to consult with medical professionals. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and if necessary during breastfeeding, they must discontinue breastfeeding. Safety in children and adolescents under 18 years of age has not been established, so caution is advised in usage. In elderly patients, there is a risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, or deterioration of renal function due to excessive blood pressure lowering, so careful administration is necessary. In the case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and electrolyte imbalance may appear, so in case of suspicion, contact a medical institution immediately for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality.
