Effect of blood pressure control in hypertension
This medication is used in patients with hypertension for whom blood pressure control is insufficient with monotherapy alone. Losartan potassium and hydrochlorothiazide work together to effectively lower blood pressure and improve blood pressure control. This helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and complications.
The usual dosage for this medication is one tablet of Losartan Potassium 50 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily. It is not advisable to exceed a daily dosage of Losartan Potassium 100 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg. Generally, the maximum antihypertensive effect appears about 3 weeks after starting treatment. This medication can be taken in conjunction with other antihypertensive agents and can be administered irrespective of meals. - Losartan
