View approved original text

This medication is used to treat essential hypertension and effectively lowers blood pressure. It also helps alleviate symptoms in heart failure patients classified as NYHA class II to IV who are intolerant to ACE inhibitors. Additionally, it is used to reduce the risk of mortality in stable patients with left ventricular dysfunction or decreased contractile function after a myocardial infarction. Through these pharmacological actions, it aids in the management of heart-related diseases and improvement of patients' conditions.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, so use should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as lactating women, should not take this medication. Administration is contraindicated in patients with severe liver dysfunction, certain liver diseases, severe kidney impairment, and a history of angioedema. Elderly patients or those with high serum potassium levels and mild to moderate liver dysfunction should be particularly cautious when administering this medication, starting with a low dose and gradually increasing it. Blood pressure may drop significantly during treatment, so if symptoms of dizziness or fainting occur, medical personnel should be notified immediately. Due to the risk of hyperkalemia, potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements should be periodically monitored when taken together. When taken in conjunction with other antihypertensives or diuretics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), caution is needed due to potential interactions that may affect blood pressure control or kidney function. During treatment, side effects such as headache, dizziness, fatigue, cough, and diarrhea may occur, and in the event of severe swelling or allergic reactions, the medication should be stopped immediately, and a doctor consulted. Patients with heart failure or after myocardial infarction may experience changes in kidney function, requiring regular kidney function tests. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children and adolescents, so it is not recommended for those under 18 years of age. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension or reduced consciousness may present, and emergency treatment should be sought immediately; blood dialysis is not effective. Store the medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to other containers. Caution is required while driving or operating machinery during treatment, as dizziness may occur.
