Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any component. It should also not be given to patients with severely impaired kidney function or those on dialysis. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, are advised against taking this medication. Infants under 1 year of age should not use this medication, and children under 6 years should be given it in liquid form rather than tablets. Patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic lactose metabolism disorders should not use this tablet. Caution is needed in patients with reduced kidney or liver function, and the elderly, as the drug's blood concentration may rise. This medication may cause drowsiness, fatigue, headaches, and dizziness; therefore, caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may also occur. Rarely, cardiovascular symptoms such as irregular heartbeat or elevated blood pressure may occur. Blood-related adverse reactions such as leukopenia or thrombocytopenia have been reported; notify a physician immediately if such symptoms occur. Allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, swelling, and rarely, anaphylactic shock may occur; caution is advised. Vision impairments or conjunctival congestion may rarely occur. Regular testing may be necessary as it can affect liver and kidney function. When taken with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants, it may significantly enhance drowsiness or decrease concentration; thus, co-administration should be avoided. Special caution is warranted for patients at risk of urinary retention while using this drug. It is safer for pregnant or nursing women to avoid this medication as adequate research has not been conducted. Dosage adjustments may be necessary depending on kidney function in children or the elderly. Temporarily stopping this medication before an allergy test can help obtain accurate results. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness or agitation may occur, and there is no specific antidote, so treatment should be symptomatic. Caution is also necessary as this drug is not effectively removed by dialysis.
