Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately once pregnancy is confirmed. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, and those allergic to this drug or its components should not take it. Patients with severe liver impairment, liver cirrhosis, or biliary obstruction should also not use this medication. Patients with a history of hereditary angioedema or angioedema, severe renal impairment, or certain kidney diseases should avoid this drug. Elderly patients or those with high potassium levels should use this medication cautiously, and it is advisable to limit the daily dose to below 80mg in cases of liver disease. Patients with heart valve disease or related heart issues, as well as those with fluid or sodium depletion, should be cautious due to the risk of hypotension. Patients with renal artery stenosis or those recovering from heart failure or myocardial infarction are at risk for worsening kidney function and should have regular kidney function tests. It is advisable not to take this medication within 24 hours before surgery. Due to its strong blood pressure-lowering effects, dizziness or fainting risks exist; caution should be taken when driving or operating machinery. This drug contains specific dyes (Yellow No. 4), so those allergic to them should use it carefully. Taking this drug with potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements, or potassium-containing medications can lead to dangerously high potassium levels in the blood; caution is needed. Taking with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can reduce the blood pressure-lowering effect and worsen kidney function, especially in the elderly or those with fluid depletion. When taken with lithium preparations, lithium levels may rise, resulting in toxicity, so blood levels should be monitored closely. An overdose of this drug can lead to severe hypotension, decreased consciousness, shock, etc., and immediate medical attention is required in such cases. Keep out of reach of children, and avoid transferring the medication to other containers. It is advisable for pregnant and nursing mothers to avoid taking this drug, and if it must be taken, they should consult a physician.
