This medication is used as hormone replacement therapy to alleviate menopausal symptoms in women undergoing menopause. It is also effective in preventing osteoporosis in women at high risk of fractures. If the woman has a uterus, progestogen should be taken simultaneously for 12 days each month. Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of endometrial cancer in women with a uterus, so additional hormone therapy should be done as instructed by a doctor. There is a risk of serious vascular problems such as thrombosis occurring during the use of this medication, so patients at risk for thrombosis should consult their doctor thoroughly before taking it and discontinue immediately if symptoms arise. If severe headaches or migraines occur or worsen, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. If there are sudden visual disturbances or symptoms of thrombosis, the use of this drug must be stopped immediately. While taking this medication, the risk of hormone-related cancers such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and endometrial cancer may increase, so regular check-ups are important. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if any other medications are being taken, it is essential to inform the doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women and nursing mothers should not take this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed during treatment, it must be discontinued immediately. This drug is not used in children or adolescents due to the risk of early closure of the epiphysis or premature sexual development. In case of overdose, symptoms such as anxiety, nausea, and abdominal distension may occur, but generally, dose adjustment will improve the symptoms.
