Progynova 28 Tablets 1 mg (Estradiol Valerate)

Adult dose

As estradiol valerate, 1 mg or 2 mg is taken orally after meals once daily. Continue treatment and immediately take the next new package without interruption. Swallow the tablets whole with an adequate beverage, and take them at the same time every day if possible. Women with a uterus must take a progestogen preparation simultaneously for 12 days each month.

Child dose

This medication is not used in children and adolescents.

This medication can increase the risk of endometrial cancer in women with a uterus, so additional medication should be taken according to the doctor's instructions. There is a risk of thrombosis, particularly deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, so individuals with a history or risk factors should consult their doctor thoroughly, and treatment should be stopped immediately if symptoms occur. If severe headaches or migraines occur suddenly or frequently, treatment should be discontinued and the physician informed. Treatment should be stopped immediately if there are suspected symptoms of visual disturbance or thrombotic disease. If there are symptoms such as liver dysfunction, jaundice, sudden high blood pressure, or increased seizures, treatment should be stopped. This medication should not be taken during pregnancy or if pregnancy is possible, and nursing mothers should also avoid using it. This medication should not be given to patients with specific diseases or medical histories, particularly those with endometrial cancer, breast cancer, thrombosis, severe liver disease, or heart disease. Regular physical examinations and gynecological check-ups are essential during treatment, as there may be an increased risk of breast cancer or endometrial cancer; therefore, regular screenings are important. Long-term use may pose risks such as liver tumors, gallbladder disease, and thrombosis, so regular medical evaluations are necessary. It can interact with other medications, so any existing medications should be disclosed to the doctor or pharmacist, particularly caution is needed when combined with anticonvulsants, antibiotics, antifungals, and some cardiac medications. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as breast tenderness, abdominal bloating, anxiety, and nausea may occur, and dosage adjustments or symptomatic treatment will be required. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to another container.
