Treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, etc.
This medication can effectively treat infections caused by various bacteria. It is used for infections of the upper respiratory tract such as otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and laryngitis, as well as for lower respiratory tract infections like bronchitis and pneumonia. It is also effective for upper and lower urinary tract infections, skin and wound infections, gynecological infections, and abdominal infections, making it applicable for treating bacterial infections in various areas. This drug acts on multiple bacterial strains including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, improving infections. Therefore, it is useful for the treatment of symptoms caused by infections.
Administer 500 - 1000 mg (based on potency) of amoxicillin-sulbactam per dose orally three times a day.
Children over 12 years: administer 500 - 1000 mg (based on potency) of amoxicillin-sulbactam per dose orally three times a day.
This medication contains penicillin-class antibiotic ingredients and should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this medication or to penicillin-class antibiotics. Additionally, patients with hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or those with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis should not take this medication. Since this medication contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or hereditary metabolic disorders. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease or multiple allergic reactions, patients who are prone to bronchial asthma or skin allergies should use this medication with caution. Patients with severely impaired kidney function may have high drug concentrations maintained, so dosing intervals should be adjusted and they should be closely monitored. Patients who have difficulty swallowing or those who are older, and patients in poor overall condition should also be carefully managed, due to the risk of bleeding from vitamin K deficiency. This medication can cause gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, and in case of severe diarrhea or bloody stools, the medication should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be received. Hypersensitive reactions may include skin rashes, urticaria, serum sickness-like reactions, and rarely anaphylactic shock, so any unusual symptoms should prompt immediate consultation with medical personnel. Can impact the kidneys, and if symptoms of nephritis or acute renal failure occur, the medication should be discontinued, and appropriate measures should be taken. During pregnancy, the risk to the fetus is low, but should only be used when the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks, and should be used cautiously while breastfeeding. In children and the elderly, dosages and intervals should be adjusted based on kidney function and overall condition, and careful observation is advised. In cases of overdose, neurological toxicity or renal failure may occur, so if suspected, immediate treatment should be sought.
