Relief of symptoms of peptic ulcer and gastroesophageal reflux disease and effectiveness in combination therapy with antibiotics
This medicine is used to treat ulcers in the stomach and duodenum and to relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective for long-term maintenance therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease and is included in the combination therapy for patients with gastrointestinal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori to enhance treatment effectiveness. It is used to improve symptoms in cases of excessive gastric acid secretion, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Overall, this medication is effective in treating symptoms of various gastrointestinal disorders and helps maintain normal daily life.
Gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer: 10 mg administered orally once daily, which may be increased to 20 mg once daily depending on symptoms. Administer for up to 8 weeks for gastric ulcers and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. Erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: 10 mg or 20 mg administered orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. If symptoms persist after 8 weeks, an additional course of 10 mg or 20 mg twice daily for 8 weeks may be prescribed.
This medication should not be used in patients with known allergies to specific ingredients or a history of hypersensitivity reactions. Additionally, it is contraindicated for patients taking certain antibiotics or other medications, as well as pregnant or nursing women. Patients with impaired liver function, the elderly, and those with a history of drug allergies should use this medication with caution.
