Precautions

This medication should not be mixed or administered simultaneously with calcium-containing solutions or other medications. It is prohibited for administration to neonates due to the risk of precipitation when calcium interacts with this drug. In neonates receiving this medication and calcium together, there may be severe issues from precipitation in the lungs and kidneys. It should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or allergic to cephalosporins or penicillins. The product containing lidocaine must not be administered intravenously. Do not administer this medication to premature infants or neonates suspected of having bilirubin binding disorders. During administration, careful observation for allergic reactions, renal dysfunction, liver dysfunction, etc., is essential. If severe allergic reactions occur, discontinue immediately and seek emergency treatment. This medication may cause various side effects including gastrointestinal disorders, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, and neurological issues; thus, any symptoms should be reported to the healthcare provider. It is crucial to regularly check liver and kidney function and blood tests during administration. This medication should be administered cautiously to pregnant or nursing women, as safety for the fetus or neonate has not been fully established. Elderly patients may experience more side effects due to decreased bodily functions, thus adjustment of dosage and frequency is necessary. Be attentive to potential influences on clinical test results, such as blood glucose or urine glucose tests, when using this medication. When administering, ensure that the medication is injected quickly into the vein, and pay attention to injection techniques to prevent adverse reactions at the injection site. In case of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, symptomatic treatment is required. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or other side effects may occur. This medication and calcium-containing solutions should not be administered through the same injection port, and thorough washing of the infusion line is necessary between administrations. Careful administration is required when used in conjunction with other medications to consider possible interactions.
