Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients who have experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this drug or from peptide and aminoglycoside antibiotics. Additionally, it should be used cautiously in patients with hearing impairment or renal dysfunction, especially in premature infants, newborns, and the elderly. During the administration of this drug, various side effects may occur, including neurological symptoms, gastrointestinal issues, blood disorders, hearing loss, liver and kidney function abnormalities, and skin rashes, requiring close observation of the patient's condition. In particular, rapid infusion may cause reactions such as skin flushing or hypotension, so it is important to administer the drug slowly. Long-term use or overdosing may increase the risk of renal dysfunction or hearing impairment, thus regular examinations and monitoring are necessary. Use should be cautious in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and in the case of breastfeeding, it is preferable to discontinue breastfeeding if possible. This medication may interact with other drugs, particularly those that have neurotoxic or nephrotoxic properties, so caution is needed when co-administered. During treatment, regular serum tests and liver and kidney function tests should be conducted, and if any adverse reactions occur, the physician should be consulted immediately. Finally, this medication must be administered via intravenous injection; intramuscular injection or administration through other routes may cause tissue damage or necrosis.
