Treatment of acute and chronic oral infections (e.g., dental abscess, soft tissue inflammation)
This medication is effective against various bacteria including Streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Bordetella pertussis. It is particularly used for acute, chronic, and recurrent oral infections, and aids in the treatment of conditions such as dental abscesses, soft tissue inflammation, pericoronitis, gingivitis, stomatitis, periodontitis, parotitis, and mandible inflammation. It is effective in alleviating inflammation and pain caused by various infections in the oral cavity and plays a significant role in restoring healthy oral condition. Therefore, this medication is used for treating various infections in the oral cavity.
For adults and children over 15 years old, 2 tablets orally 2-3 times a day.
For ages 10-14, 1 tablet orally 3 times a day. For ages 6-9, 1 tablet orally 2 times a day.
This medication may prolong the QT interval, affecting the heart's electrical activity and increasing the risk of cardiac arrhythmias or rhythm disturbances. Special caution is advised for patients with congenital QT prolongation, those taking certain medications, patients with electrolyte imbalances, those with heart disease, the elderly, newborns, and women. Serious skin reactions may occur while taking this medication; if symptoms such as skin rash or mucosal damage appear, administration should be ceased immediately. Patients with certain genetic disorders may be at risk of liver damage, so liver function tests must be performed both before and during treatment, and if any liver dysfunction is detected, the medication should be discontinued. Patients with allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to certain drugs, children under 6 years old, and those with specific hereditary metabolic disorders should not take this medication. Various side effects can occur, including skin rash, gastrointestinal issues, blood disorders, neurological problems, psychiatric symptoms, vision changes, liver dysfunction, cardiac arrhythmias, and hearing impairments have been reported. In particular, if changes in mental state, seizures, or dizziness occur, it is crucial to consult a physician immediately and avoid driving or operating machinery. This medication should only be used for the necessary duration to prevent the development of resistant bacteria, and alcohol should be avoided as it may increase the risk of side effects. Additionally, regular blood tests are required for those with a history of blood disorders, and patients should be aware that urine color may change during treatment. This medication can interact with various other drugs, so consultation with a physician is mandatory when using it alongside warfarin, lithium, cyclosporine, anticoagulants, etc., and blood tests should be used to monitor the condition. It is recommended to avoid taking it during the first three months of pregnancy, and breastfeeding should be discontinued while taking this medication. In case of overdose, symptom-specific treatment and cardiac monitoring are necessary. Finally, store this medication out of the reach of children, and do not transfer the medication to another container for safety.
