Treatment of infections (including respiratory, skin, and mycobacterial infections); Helicobacter pylori eradication for duodenal ulcers
This medication is used to treat lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia, upper respiratory tract infections such as pharyngitis and sinusitis, and skin and soft tissue infections. It is also effective against mycobacterial infections caused by Mycobacterium avium and Mycobacterium intracellulare. It helps eradicate Helicobacter pylori in patients with duodenal ulcers. It contributes to improving the diseases included in the main indications and to the recovery of the patient's health.
○ Adults : Clarithromycin is usually administered at 250mg (potency) per dose 2 times daily; for severe infections, administer 500mg (potency) per dose 2 times daily. The duration of administration is usually 7~14 days. For patients with renal failure and creatinine clearance of 30mL/min or less, the dose should be reduced by half. That is, administer 250mg (potency) once daily, or, for severe infections, administer 250mg (potency) per dose 2 times daily. Do not administer for more than 14 days to these patients. ○ Mycobacterial infections : Administer 500mg (potency) of this medicine per dose 2 times daily. In this case, it should be administered concomitantly with other antimycobacterial agents such as ethambutol, clofazimine, and rifampin. ○ Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with duodenal ulcer : Administer 500mg (potency) of this medicine 3 times daily with omeprazole 40mg once daily for 14 days, followed by omeprazole 40mg once daily for 14 consecutive days. That is, administer clarithromycin 500mg (potency) per dose 3 times daily for 14 days (days 1~14), and administer omeprazole 40mg once daily for 28 days (days 1~28). ○ Children 12 years of age and older: Same as adults
For children under 12 years of age, use clarithromycin dry syrup.
