  • Exogenous obesity
View approved original text

This medication is used as an adjunct therapy for patients with obesity who do not respond to appropriate dietary and exercise regimens. It is particularly applicable to patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, or those with risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia with a BMI of 27 or higher. It helps effectively reduce weight by complementing weight loss treatment based on exercise, behavioral modification, and caloric restriction. This medication should be used alone and not in conjunction with other appetite suppressants, and is intended for short-term weight loss support. It promotes weight reduction and improvement of health risk factors in obesity management.
