Improvement of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, etc.)
This medicine is used to treat ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, gastroesophageal reflux disease, recurrent ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also effective in improving gastric mucosal lesions such as erosion, bleeding, redness, and edema that occur during acute exacerbation of acute gastritis and chronic gastritis. Therefore, it helps alleviate symptoms of various stomach-related diseases and treats mucosal damage.
As cimetidine, take 400 mg orally twice daily (in the morning and at bedtime) or 800 mg once daily (at bedtime). Also, take 300 mg orally four times a day (after meals and at bedtime). The dose may be increased up to 1.6 g per day for 400 mg four times a day (after meals and at bedtime). For acute gastritis or acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis, 200 mg twice daily or 400 mg once daily is administered.
Administered orally divided at 20 to 40 mg per kg of body weight per day.
This medicine should be handled very carefully when cutting the container for the glass ampule injection, as glass fragments may get mixed in. Extra caution is needed, especially when used in children or the elderly. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or a history of such reactions should not be administered this drug. Additionally, it is not given to patients taking dofetilide due to increased risk of cardiac arrhythmias. Dose adjustments or adjustment of administration intervals are necessary for patients with renal or liver function impairment, elderly patients, children under 19 years old, and patients undergoing hemodialysis. It may mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should only be administered after confirming that it is not gastric cancer. For patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers who test positive for Helicobacter pylori, bacterial eradication treatment is necessary. Patients with allergies to the pigment components contained in this drug should use it cautiously. Various side effects such as decreased blood cell count, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, allergic reactions, gastrointestinal symptoms, neuropsychiatric symptoms, skin rashes may occur during the use of this drug, so any abnormal symptoms should be reported to healthcare professionals immediately. Especially elderly or patients with renal failure may experience neurological side effects like confusion or seizures, so caution is needed. This drug can interact with several other drugs, so if you are taking any other medications, you must inform your healthcare provider. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this drug when the benefits outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding should be discontinued if using this medication. It should be used cautiously in children or the elderly, particularly the elderly may require dosage adjustments due to reduced kidney function. In cases of overdose, serious side effects such as respiratory depression may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment. When administering as an injection, avoid rapid intravenous administration and use a slow infusion to reduce side effects. Keep the medication out of reach of children, and do not transfer it to other containers for safety reasons. This drug has been reported to have weak anti-androgen action in animal experiments, and long-term administration may affect certain reproductive organs, but clinical trials have shown no significant impact on reproductive ability.
