How to take

Adult dose

For adults with severe infections and respiratory infections, 2 tablets are administered orally every 12 hours. In patients with renal impairment, the dosage may be reduced according to the degree of kidney function. In severe cases of renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate less than 30 mL/min), this drug cannot be administered.

Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with a hypersensitivity to penicillin-based drugs. It should be avoided, especially in patients with a history of serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or shock. Additionally, patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at increased risk of rashes, and it is advisable not to use this drug. Patients with liver or liver function problems should be cautious, as it may exacerbate liver function disorders. In patients with impaired liver function or severe kidney impairment, the dosage and interval should be adjusted carefully to avoid increased drug concentration. Patients with allergic tendencies or those who easily exhibit symptoms such as bronchial asthma, rashes, or hives should also be cautious. Those who have difficulty swallowing, elderly patients, or those in poor overall condition may have a risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency and need to be monitored. Patients with gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea should be careful, as drug absorption may not be sufficient. This drug can cause various gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting, and in rare cases, severe side effects such as pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis have been reported. Liver function test values may increase, and cholestatic jaundice may occur, especially more frequently in elderly and male patients. Serious skin reactions such as rashes, itching, or, in severe cases, Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, and if symptoms develop, the administration should be stopped immediately. Rarely, blood abnormalities such as leukopenia or thrombocytopenia may occur, so regular testing is necessary during prolonged administration. Neurological issues such as anxiety, nervousness, or seizures may occur, and in patients with impaired kidney function, attention should be paid to acute renal failure. This drug may interact with other medications; caution is necessary when combined with anticoagulants, probenecid, allopurinol, disulfiram, etc. Pregnant women or those who could become pregnant should particularly avoid using this drug during the first three months, and nursing women should observe for adverse effects in their infants. It is not recommended for children, especially those under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly individuals should have their dosage and administration interval adjusted, due to an increased risk of side effects from decreased bodily function, and their condition should be monitored closely. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms or neurological issues may appear, and immediate cessation of administration and appropriate treatment are necessary. This drug should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and prolonged use should be avoided unless clinically necessary.
