Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it may be hazardous for patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or its ingredients, patients with severely impaired heart function, those with heart conduction disorders, right heart failure caused by pulmonary hypertension, patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, and those with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Additionally, it is also not safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should also avoid using this drug. When taking this medication, especially cautious administration is needed for diabetic patients, hypotensive patients, patients with heart diseases, those with impaired renal or liver function, and the elderly. This drug may lower heart rate or blood pressure, so if such symptoms occur, one must consult a doctor immediately. During treatment, symptoms such as dizziness, headache, and fatigue may arise, and in rare cases, severe side effects such as hallucinations, mental confusion, severe bradycardia, or worsened heart failure may occur. Therefore, regular cardiac function tests and monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate are necessary. This medication may interact with various drugs, so if you are taking other medicines, you must inform your healthcare provider, especially when using it with antihypertensives, antidiabetics, calcium channel blockers, antiarrhythmics, anesthetics, etc. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and safety for children and adolescents has not been established, so it is best not to use it. Elderly patients may have increased drug concentrations due to decreased liver function, so they should start at a lower dose and be monitored closely. In the case of overdose, symptoms such as lowered blood pressure, decreased heart rate, and severe situations like heart shock or respiratory distress may occur, necessitating immediate contact with medical personnel for appropriate treatment. This drug requires regular cardiac function tests, monitoring of blood pressure, and heart rate due to long-term use, and sudden discontinuation can increase the risk of worsening angina symptoms or myocardial infarction, so it should be reduced gradually according to a doctor’s advice. During treatment, one should avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery, and be cautious with alcohol consumption as it may enhance the hypotensive effect of the drug. This drug may degrade when exposed to light, so it should be stored in an opaque container and kept out of reach of children.
