Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have experienced severe allergic reactions or shock due to this medication in the past. Additionally, patients with allergies to this medication or cephalosporin antibiotics should not be administered this drug. It should be administered with caution to patients with a history of allergy to penicillin antibiotics, those with bronchial asthma or skin allergic symptoms occurring frequently, patients with severely impaired kidney function, patients who have difficulty with oral intake or elderly patients, and those with a history of gastrointestinal disease. This medication may rarely cause severe allergic reactions or shock, therefore the patient's condition should be monitored carefully during administration. If symptoms such as severe skin rash or mucosal damage occur, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. Regular tests are required as blood disorders, liver dysfunction, or kidney impairment may occur, and administration should be discontinued if abnormal signs appear. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and if severe colitis symptoms are present, drug administration should be stopped immediately. Respiratory symptoms or central nervous system symptoms may also rarely occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, inform the medical staff. This medication may interact with specific drugs, so if other medications are being taken, it is essential to inform the healthcare provider, especially when used with anticoagulants, antacids, and diuretics. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult with their doctor regarding the need for this medication, and it should also be used cautiously in breastfeeding mothers. Safety and efficacy in children have not been adequately confirmed, so caution is advised when administering to children. Elderly patients may experience side effects more readily due to decreased bodily function, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted carefully. Prolonged use or overdose of this medication may result in symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea, and in the case of overdose, appropriate treatment should be sought at a medical institution immediately. This medication works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby killing bacteria, so it is important to administer it only for the necessary duration to prevent the emergence of resistant strains.
