It should not be administered to patients with a history of allergies to this drug or hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillin antibiotics, and to patients allergic to the excipients of this drug. This medication's intramuscular injection should be avoided if there is hypersensitivity to specific local anesthetics such as lidocaine, and it should not be administered intravenously when it contains lidocaine. It should not be used in neonates or premature infants with bilirubin binding disorders, as this medication may increase the risk of bilirubin encephalopathy.
