Precautions

This medicine should not be used by individuals who are allergic to this medicine or its components, or who have previously shown hypersensitivity. People with convulsive disorders or those who have experienced seizures in the past should be cautious when taking this medicine, as there is a risk of seizures occurring. This medicine cannot replace corticosteroid medications used for asthma treatment; therefore, it should not be used solely as an asthma treatment. Women who are breastfeeding are advised not to take this medication, and in cases where it is absolutely necessary, breastfeeding should be discontinued. Patients taking oral hypoglycemics should have regular blood tests when using this medicine, as it may reduce platelet counts when used concurrently. Individuals with genetic issues such as fructose intolerance should not take the syrup formulation of this medicine. If already taking other medications for prevention and treatment of asthma, do not abruptly stop existing medications when starting this medicine, but gradually adjust them. During the initial days of taking this medicine, symptoms like drowsiness, dizziness, and dry mouth may occur, but these will usually resolve naturally over time. Particularly in children, symptoms of central nervous system issues such as excitement, insomnia, and irritability may appear, so careful monitoring is necessary. Caution is required as this medication may slow down reaction times while driving or operating machinery. Patients on long-term steroid treatment should gradually reduce steroids when starting this medication and be mindful of potential adrenal insufficiency. If an infection is present, appropriate antibiotic treatment should be administered concurrently. This medication does not stop seizures once they occur, so if seizure symptoms arise, consult a doctor. When discontinuing this medication, it should be reduced gradually over 2 to 4 weeks to minimize side effects. Caution should be exercised when taking it with sedatives, sleep aids, antihistamines, or alcohol as their effects may be potentiated. There is no established safety for this medication in pregnant women, so it should only be used if absolutely necessary. When administering to children or the elderly, symptoms and reactions should be closely monitored, and dosages adjusted accordingly. In case of overdose, serious symptoms such as drowsiness, confusion, seizures, and respiratory depression may occur, so medical attention should be sought immediately. It is advisable to stop taking this medicine before allergy tests and to avoid using it at least 3-5 days prior to testing. Keep out of reach of children, and do not store in a different container from the original.
