How to take

Adult dose

For adults with severe infections and respiratory infections, take 1 tablet orally twice a day every 12 hours. In patients with renal impairment, the dosage may need to be reduced based on the level of kidney function. This medication should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate below 30 mL/min).

Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with allergies to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs. Particularly, for those with a history of severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or shock, the use of this medication may pose a risk. Additionally, patients with concurrent viral diseases such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia have a higher risk of developing rashes and should ideally avoid this medication. Patients with prior liver function issues should be cautious as symptoms may reoccur due to this medication. In patients with decreased liver function, the use of this medication should be carefully monitored to prevent further deterioration of liver function. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may need to adjust the dosing interval due to increased drug concentrations in the blood. Those with allergic predispositions or family history should be cautious as allergic symptoms such as skin rashes or hives may appear upon taking this medication. Patients with gastrointestinal diseases accompanied by vomiting or diarrhea should be careful as the medication may not be adequately absorbed. This medication may cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in severe cases, may lead to severe colitis such as pseudomembranous colitis. If such symptoms occur, the use of the medication should be immediately discontinued, and medical consultation should be sought. Liver function abnormalities have also been reported, occurring more frequently in the elderly or males, and symptoms may arise during or after treatment. Rarely, serious skin reactions or hypersensitivity reactions such as anaphylactic shock may occur, necessitating immediate treatment if symptoms such as rash or respiratory distress develop. Hematological disorders such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia have also been reported, which may require regular blood testing. Central nervous system symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and convulsions may rarely occur, particularly in patients with poor renal function or those receiving high doses. Regular kidney monitoring and observation are necessary as this medication can affect kidney function. This medication may alter the intestinal flora, potentially leading to conditions such as stomatitis or candidiasis, and may also result in a bleeding tendency due to vitamin K deficiency. Long-term use can lead to the risk of resistant bacteria and overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, so it should be used for the minimum duration necessary. It is advisable not to use this medication during the first three months of pregnancy, and for nursing mothers, caution is advised as the drug may pass into breast milk and cause side effects in infants. This medication can interact with other drugs, so anyone taking other medications should consult their doctor or pharmacist. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, or allergic reactions may occur and immediate medical treatment should be sought. Store in a tightly closed container in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and use accurately as directed by a physician.
