This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients who have previously experienced shock due to this medication or are allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics should not take it. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so patients with genetic lactose intolerance or related conditions should avoid it. Caution is necessary when administering this medication. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or to cefem antibiotics should preferably not use it, and if it must be used, they should be carefully monitored. Patients allergic to penicillin-based antibiotics or those with a tendency to easily exhibit allergic symptoms such as asthma, skin rashes, and urticaria should also exercise caution. Patients with severely impaired kidney function may experience increased concentration of this medication, so dosage adjustments and dosing intervals are required. Patients unable to take orally, those receiving non-oral nutrition, elderly patients, and those with poor general condition may exhibit vitamin K deficiency symptoms, so their condition should be closely monitored. This medication contains Yellow No. 5 dye, so patients allergic to this component should be cautious. Rare side effects may include shock, anaphylaxis, skin rash, gastrointestinal disturbances, respiratory issues, blood abnormalities, central nervous system disturbances, etc., so if symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. In particular, if severe diarrhea such as pseudomembranous colitis occurs, medication should be stopped immediately. Regular testing is necessary as liver or kidney function may be affected, and if any abnormal signs are detected, discontinuation of administration is required. Moreover, this medication may inhibit the production of vitamin K by intestinal bacteria, thus increasing the risk of bleeding when taken in conjunction with warfarin, so caution is needed. Additionally, the co-administration of this medication with certain drugs may increase renal toxicity, so patients must inform healthcare providers of any other medications they are taking. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of taking this medication, and it is recommended to avoid breastfeeding during the treatment period. Safety for newborns, premature infants, and infants under 6 months has not been established, so it is preferable not to use this medication in these groups. Elderly patients often have decreased bodily functions, making them more susceptible to side effects, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted, and their condition closely monitored. This medication may also influence some clinical test results, so caution is required in interpreting test results. Finally, the suspension of this medication should not be stored for more than two weeks after manufacturing, and powder forms should not be mixed with milk or juice for prolonged periods.
