This medication should not be used in patients who have allergies to specific components or have previously shown hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics. Special caution is needed for patients with viral diseases such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia due to a higher risk of rash. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should avoid this medication as symptoms may recur. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take it. Patients with impaired liver function or severe renal dysfunction may require dose adjustments due to potential increased drug concentrations. Patients with a tendency for allergies or who frequently experience symptoms such as bronchial asthma, rash, or urticaria should also exercise caution. Patients with gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea may not absorb the medication properly, so care should be taken during administration. If symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, or bloody stools occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a physician. Liver function abnormalities may also occur, so liver function tests are necessary during treatment, particularly in older adults and males where they may occur more frequently. Severe skin reactions such as rash, itching, and in severe cases Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, so administration should be stopped immediately if such symptoms arise. Rare reports of blood tests showing leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia have occurred, so regular blood tests are recommended. Symptoms of central nervous system disturbances may include anxiety, drowsiness, or seizures, which should be closely monitored if they occur. This medication is excreted through the kidneys, so dosage adjustments are needed for patients with decreased kidney function, and caution is necessary for renal abnormalities such as acute renal failure. Antibiotic use can disrupt the balance of intestinal flora, so appropriate measures should be taken if symptoms of candidiasis or stomatitis appear. Long-term use may lead to bleeding tendencies due to vitamin K deficiency, so monitoring for bleeding symptoms is required. It is advisable to avoid this medication during pregnancy, especially during the first three months, and caution should also be taken when breastfeeding as side effects might occur in infants. The safety for use in premature or newborn infants has not been established and is not recommended. Older adults are at higher risk for side effects due to decreased physiological function, hence dose and interval should be adjusted carefully. This medication can interact with other drugs, so inform healthcare providers of any medications being taken. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, seizures, and allergic reactions may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought.
