Particularly, patients with myasthenia gravis may experience worsening symptoms, so it's advisable not to use this medication. This drug is only for use in specific bacterial infections and should only be administered when no other treatment options exist. Elderly patients or those with reduced renal function are at higher risk of tendon rupture, and concomitant use with corticosteroids increases the risk of side effects, so this combination should be avoided. If pain or inflammation occurs in the tendon during treatment, discontinue use immediately and rest, and avoid exercise. This medication has neuromuscular blocking effects and can be dangerous for patients with severe myasthenia gravis. Those with a history of hypersensitivity, or who are pregnant, growing children, or have epilepsy should not use this medication. Concomitant use with certain drugs can cause serious side effects, so it's essential to discuss any concurrent medications with healthcare professionals. Blood sugar disturbances may occur, so diabetic patients should frequently check their blood sugars, and if hypoglycemic symptoms present, immediate treatment is necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially anticoagulants, antidiabetic medications, and central nervous system drugs, so caution is needed when used together. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication and if breastfeeding should consider stopping breastfeeding or alternative treatments. The safety of this medication has not been established in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Elderly patients may have a higher risk of side effects due to prolonged drug presence in the body owing to reduced renal function, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted.
