Treatment of central nervous system and gastrointestinal infections, improvement of ophthalmic infections such as blepharitis
This medication, when used as an injection, is effective against various bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus, and is used to treat meningitis, pneumonia, peritonitis, skin and soft tissue infections, burns and post-surgical infections, bone infections, sepsis, as well as severe pyelonephritis and cystitis. As eye drops or ointments, it responds to various ocular pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, and Pseudomonas, and is used to treat blepharitis, dacryocystitis, styes, conjunctivitis, keratitis, and corneal ulcers. This drug is widely used to treat various bacterial infections, making it effective for multiple infectious diseases.
For severe infections, administer tobramycin as 3mg (potency) per Kg of body weight per day, divided into 3 doses intravenously or intramuscularly. In life-threatening infections, it may be necessary to administer up to 5mg (potency) per Kg of body weight per day, divided into 3 to 4 doses, and then reduce it to 3mg (potency) per Kg of body weight per day once symptoms improve. Do not administer more than 5mg (potency) per Kg of body weight per day without measuring serum concentration.
For children, administer 5mg (potency) per Kg of body weight per day, divided into 3 to 4 doses intravenously or intramuscularly. For neonates (under 1 week old), administer 4mg (potency) per Kg of body weight per day, divided and given every 12 hours. Dilution amount.
This medication is an aminoglycoside antibiotic and should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to this medication or similar antibiotics, or bacitracin should not use this drug. Furthermore, patients with ear diseases, very poor kidney function, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and those with muscle disorders should avoid this medication. Also, patients with bronchial asthma or certain neurological disorders should preferably not use this drug. When using this medication, special caution is advised for those with weak kidney or liver function, neonates or premature infants, the elderly, and individuals in poor nutritional status. This drug can rarely cause side effects such as allergic reactions, gastrointestinal disturbances, blood disorders, neurological disturbances, liver and kidney dysfunction, and skin rashes; if any abnormal symptoms appear, usage must be stopped immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Particularly, this medication poses risks for hearing and kidney damage, so regular blood level and hearing tests are important during long-term or high-dose administration. Moreover, since this drug may interact with other medications, it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist if it will be used together with anesthetics, muscle relaxants, anticoagulants, or certain diuretics. During pregnancy or breastfeeding, this medication may be harmful to the fetus or neonate and should be used only if necessary; lactation should be paused during treatment. When using it as eye drops or ointment, do not inject directly into the eye, and discontinue use if irritation or allergic symptoms occur in the surrounding areas of the eye. Also, avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment, and be cautious when driving or operating machinery, as vision may be blurred. In case of overdose, kidney function decline, hearing damage, or difficulty breathing may occur, and immediate medical treatment should be sought.

Additionally, it should be kept at room temperature, not too hot or cold, ideally between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius.
