Improvement of respiratory infections and urinary tract infections
This drug is effective against various bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Shigella, and Salmonella, and is used to treat respiratory infections except for acute bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia. It is also effective for infections of the ear, nose, and throat, acute simple cystitis, pyelonephritis, and complicated urinary tract infections. It can be used for various infections including gonococcal cervicitis and urethritis, gastrointestinal infections, cholangitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and osteoarticular infections. It is also used for gynecological infections, peritonitis, piloid cysts, and tonsillitis. However, due to the nature of fluoroquinolones, it is recommended to be used with caution only when no other treatment options are available for certain infections. Therefore, this drug improves the treatment of multiple bacterial infections.
For normal adults, take ciprofloxacin at a dose of 250-500 mg orally twice a day between meals. In cases of severe complicated infections, the dose can be increased to 750 mg twice a day. For acute infections, treatment usually lasts for 5 to 10 days, and it should be taken for at least 3 more days after symptoms resolve. For patients with renal impairment, adjust the dosage according to the creatinine clearance rate. For those undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
