This medicine is used to treat ulcers occurring in the stomach and duodenum, and it is effective for conditions associated with excessive gastric acid secretion, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, anastomotic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used to improve gastric mucosal damage (erosions, bleeding, redness, swelling) that occurs during acute exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis. Thus, it plays a role in protecting the gastric mucosa and alleviating inflammation, improving gastrointestinal health.

Precautions

This medication should be handled with care during preparation, as glass particles may be introduced when using the injectable form. Extra caution should be taken when administering to children and the elderly. This medicine should not be used in patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to its components, or those currently taking dofetilide. Patients with impaired kidney or liver function, seniors, children under 19 years old, and patients undergoing dialysis may require dosage adjustments or changes in the administration interval. This medicine may mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should be administered only after confirming malignancy, and patients with Helicobacter pylori infections should receive bacterial eradication treatment as well. Patients with an allergy to the yellow No. 4 dye contained in this product should use it cautiously. It may cause a decrease in blood cell count, so if symptoms such as general fatigue, bleeding, or fever occur, a blood test should be done immediately. Hepatic dysfunction, kidney problems, symptoms of hypersensitivity (shock, difficulty breathing, rash, etc.), gynecomastia, gastrointestinal symptoms, and neurological symptoms may occur, so any abnormal symptoms should prompt immediate consultation with a physician. Especially the elderly or patients with renal failure should be cautious of neurological side effects such as confusion or seizures. This medication interacts with many other drugs, so if taking multiple medications such as warfarin, antidepressants, antiarrhythmics, and antifungals, it is crucial to inform your doctor. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks before using this medication, and nursing mothers are advised to refrain from breastfeeding while using it. The safety in pediatric patients has not been sufficiently established, so it should be administered cautiously only when necessary. The elderly may require reduced dosages or extended intervals between doses due to reduced kidney function. In cases of overdose, serious side effects such as respiratory depression can occur, necessitating immediate medical treatment. When administered as an injection, do not administer it too quickly; slow administration is necessary to prevent arrhythmias or decreased blood pressure. Store in a safe place out of reach of children, and it is important to maintain quality by not transferring to other containers.
