Precautions

This medication should not be mixed or administered simultaneously with calcium-containing solutions or drugs. Particularly in newborns, mixing this drug with calcium solutions can lead to precipitate formation and poses a serious risk of adverse effects, thus it should be avoided. Patients with a history of allergic reactions to this drug or hypersensitivity to cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics should not use this medication. Additionally, premature infants or newborns with problems in bilirubin binding should also not be administered this drug. Patients who have previously experienced allergic reactions to medications, asthma, rash, or similar symptoms should be particularly cautious when administering this medication. Patients with impaired renal function may require dose adjustments. Moreover, due to the risk of vitamin K deficiency, blood coagulation status should be monitored regularly. Using this medication may result in side effects such as diarrhea, rash, liver function abnormalities, and decreased blood cell counts; in severe cases, acute allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis may occur. If symptoms appear, treatment should be stopped immediately and medical personnel should be notified. During treatment, regular assessments of liver and kidney function, as well as blood tests, should be conducted, particularly since high-dose administration may lead to precipitate formation in the gallbladder. There are no specific antidotes for overdose, and treatment should be based on symptoms. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been established, so pregnant women should consult a physician before use, and it should be administered with caution in nursing mothers. Caution is required when driving or operating machinery, as side effects such as dizziness may occur.
